What is Emotional Equity?

Have you ever heard the term Emotional Equity before? Do you know the value and effects that emotional equity can have on your business and the community surrounding it?

When talking about Emotional Equity within a business and its audience we use Ethos, Pathos and Logos to create an emotional value for the people that use your business’s services. The point of creating this value is to encourage word of mouth conversations, brand loyalty and engagement.

If you have ever had a pleasant sales experience you can verify that a couple of factors played into the making of that moment. Have you ever bought something from a person and not remembered what you bought but you know that if you buy something from them again you will enjoy it? Often times we find it hard to understand what made the experience nice and we simply decide to go back to that place again without knowing what is bringing us back.

Emotional Equity is the emotional connection behind a business. Individual sale reps create this equity when they interact with people face to face, and companies can create this when they post blogs and social media updates on things they are doing to interact with their community. Since we know that people want to relate to something; the easiest way to have a consumer relate to your product is to increase the emotional equity within the community of influence.

Authentic Emotional Equity is the only way to create real emotional connection with your target audience. People can sense fake and with the ability for anyone to review your company you need to be transparent and honest. There are many strategies that you can use to verify your authenticity.

With the rise of social media, people are being barraged with advertisements and actually becoming desensitized. In efforts to create sensitivity in the market again; and due to new restrictions on advertising, companies are now looking to the reviews of influencers and “normal” consumers. The reason that using an influencer or the opinion of a non famous person works so well is because of the Emotional Equity those individuals bring to the company and the community around it. You can also use a business owner’s own engagement to create emotional equity within a community too. People need to know that their feelings and needs are being met with each product they purchase. The pull and sway from an existing personality in a community is always a huge asset to your company. Being able to create your own emotional equity in your community is what R.IZZO STRATEGIC SOLUTIONS was created to do.

  1. Can I simply say what a comfort to find someone who actually understands what they are discussing on the net. You definitely understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people should check this out and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you are not more popular since you most certainly have the gift.
